Americana Onesie and Headband by Crystal

Friday, June 27, 2014

Hello Ribbons Unlimited Fans!
It's Crystal here with a fun project for the 4th of July and all year-long. Today I made a Americana onesie and matching headband.  Ribbons Unlimited has beautiful ribbon and excellent quality at an awesome price, go visit the store and take a look around.

Let's get started.  First I trace the onesie onto chipboard and then cut it out.
This will go inside your shirt so the glue does not bleed through.

Insert the chipboard into the shirt from the bottom

Next I select my ribbon of choice and decide my layout before I glue down.
I cut 3 pieces at 4 1/2" and 3 pieces at 3 " from double ruffle red.
The Navy bow is  made with Delight ribbon.
I am using Beacon Fabri-tac permanent adhesive

I added Martha Stewart white gold glitter glue to make faux stars on my Navy Blue.

I add a line of glue to the back of the ribbon and adhere to the shirt.

I decided to add glitter fireworks around the flag for some more sparkle.

for my headband I layered
I added some curly ostrich feathers in white , the base is a white with silver fleck stretch headband and added white felt to the back side to adhere to the headband.

Live, Laugh, Love Frame with Grace

Friday, June 20, 2014

I am always on a hunt to find treasures in the clearance bin of my local craft store. At one certain visit I found some place card holder frames that went down to 99 cents. I didn’t know (at that time) what I will make with them but I couldn’t pass them up.
Fast forward to this week, I was looking at a certain wall in my home and found it to be lonely and bare. The thought of hanging up a saying on it came to mind and I knew that the frames and some gold wired ribbon from Ribbon’s Unlimited will brighten up that spot.
Here’s how I created my home décor project….

1. First, I grabbed my frames and the ribbon. I then went through my stash to find papers and letters that would fit the frame and also match with all the colors that I’m going to use.

2. Next, I took of the easel back of the frames. I wouldn’t need it since I’m adhering them onto the ribbon. That was an extra bulk that I didn’t need. Luckily I was able to easily take it off.

3. Third, I measured the inside of the frame and cut out my papers according to the size. I then adhered them onto the inside cardboard of the frame, added the plastic on the front and slipped them back into the frames. *I initially used the green floral paper but after trying to place the letters on top of it, I realized that the pattern on the paper clashed with my letters. So I changed it with the star paper instead.

4. Then I added my letters over the plastic cover of my frames.

5. Using a glue gun, I adhered the frames onto the ribbon.  I added a ring on top of the ribbon so it can easily be hung anywhere.  I added a bow from the same wired ribbon on the top.

6. I added a velvet flower on the center of the bow for a finished look.

Here’s another look at the finished project and some more detailed shots…

Thank you for joining me today.

Happy Crafting,
Grace

Mini Keychain Album with Pinky

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Hey there friends, it's Pinky again.
I always say that it's the small touches that make a project special
and I can't imagine the next two projects being nearly as cool
without the ribbon, it really just makes it!
This is a mini keychain album I used
Ribbons Unlimited Sheer Organdy Ribbon in Silver to really highlight the album.
The album is filed with inspirational quotes for encouragement.
The silver ribbon made it perfect.
And on this adorable beach card I took
I created a ruffle with my sewing machine, trimmed to card face
down and adhere it inside.
Doesn't it make it POP?! It looks like a little gift bag.
This little touches show that you took the time to really make it special.
I hope you grab some ribbon and get to work!
Until next time- keep on creating.

Now the tricky part- CAREFULLY and SLOWLY heat emboss- this will melt the strip of you go to hot and too fast! Go slow and keep it cooled. If it curls just bend back into place.
