Baby Scrapbook Layout by Jamie L.

Jamie here! Today I have a scrapbook layout to share with you all. These are some pics of my youngest at the hospital being held by her Uncle Aaron (my husbands brother). For my layout I used a lot of scrap papers, my silhouette cameo to make the title, but most importantly some fantastic Nylvalour Velvet Ribbon in coral (2" wide) from Ribbons Unlimited Inc.

I'd like to show you all how I used the ribbon on this layout, I tried to go outside the box a little. I have a quick picture tutorial. I hope you enjoy it.

I cut a portion of ribbon about 3-4inches long. I then flipped the ribbon over and free handed a shape on the back in white gel pen (in this case an arrow).

I then cut the arrow out with scissors.

After the arrow was cut I used the scraps to make little banners and another arrow.

Simple but super cute and it gives the page some texture and softness. I really like it and I hope you do too!

Easy Ribbon Flower Center-Step card by Melissa

Hello,

I'm Melissa and I am thrilled to finally be able to share with you my love for ribbon.  I am thankful to be one of the newest member's of the Ribbon Unlimited design team and I look forward to the opportunity to share my craft with you.

I don't have a little girl in my life that likes hair ribbons and bows, my daughter has outgrown them so my love for ribbon is how they dress up cards and other crafty projects.

The base of the card is an svg cut file by Lori Whitlock, but the real feature is the easy ribbon flower I created using Country Check light blue (3/8") and Double Face Satin green apple ribbons.

To make the flower I cut pieces of ribbon about 2 inches, folded them over and then stitched the middle together so the point is created.  Then I strung all 5 petals and pulled tightly.  I created the center by cutting out a flower shape from white felt and layered the ribbon flower, felt flower and button and sewed it all together.  The stem and leaves are pretty self-explanatory.

I hope you enjoyed my card and again, I look forward to coming up with fun and easy ideas to share with you.

Baby Shower Party Favors by Steph Ackerman

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here with my first post for Ribbons Unlimited.   I'm so excited to be working with the lovely ribbons at Ribbons Unlimited Inc.

I found some unusual glass jars recently and thought they'd be fabulous for party favors.   I began by using etchall dip 'n etch to frost the jars. 

Next, I  tied Sky Blue Ombre Ribbon around the bottles.  This beautiful ombre ribbon is 1 1/2" wide and is the perfect size for these bottles.  I tied another piece around the knot for more dimension.

Around the rim of the cap, I've adhered Cream Nylvalour Velvet Ribbon.   At 3/16" of inch, it's the perfect size to fit around the rim. 

I stamped the sentiments on white cardstock, matted them with black cardstock and then tied them to the ribbon with some twine.

There you have it - quick and easy party favors that anyone would love.

Tying it all together for Grandma's big day by Nicole

Hey everyone!  Nicole here to share my first project on the blog.  My grandma's 80th birthday was a little over a week ago and my ribbon arrived on the morning I was finishing up my grandma's birthday cake.  I had been putting off getting ribbon for her cake and I'm so glad I did.  The French Wired Ribbon in Porcelain Blue was the perfect shade of blue that I had been wanting and also happens to be my grandma's favorite color.  

I prepped the ribbon to be added to the cake by lining one side of the ribbon with packing tape.  I laid the tape on the table and placed the ribbon on top.  I doesn't have to be perfect since any of the excess will be trimmed off.

Just a side note:  You can add the ribbon to the cake without tape, but I prefer to do this extra step since some ribbons tend to soak up the oils from the buttercream and end up stained.

Using scissors carefully trim away the extra packing tape along each side.  

I decorated the bottom tier of the cake, let the buttercream set up a bit, and then added the ribbon along the bottom.  I secured the ribbon with a couple of white straight pins that had been washed and dried. 

The finishing touch was the bow I tied and glued to the bottom of the board.  The wire in the ribbon worked perfectly here to allow me to shape the bow and it stayed in place.  

I finished up the cake by placing my crumb coat top tier and decorating with ombre rosettes.  I love how the cake turned out and that ribbon was the perfect way to tie in my vision for the whole thing.   

Can you believe I never got a picture of the cake at the party with the cake topper?!!  In my defense I not only did the cake, but also was in charge of decorating and making sure everything was ready for her big party.  I took the night off of taking pictures and handed the camera over to my uncle.  My son did capture this picture with his kindle.  He snapped this as my great-aunts were singing and before we cut the cake.

Doesn't she look great for 80!  I hope I inherited a few of those genes.

Baby headband and gifts by Crystal

Hello Ribbons Unlimited Inc. fans!

It's Crystal here and today I made a headband  using Double Faced Satin in Aqua 7/8"  this ribbon looks great from both sides perfect for loopy bows that show both sides , I made a bow and added it to stretch elastic , the headband has a loop so you can change out the bow , I made this for a newborn to go along with a baby bracelet and a baby onesies that I created with glitter heat transfer vinyl . This baby is getting the full hookup of BLING !!

Ribbon Winter Wreath by Grace

 Hello ribbon friends. Today I’d like to share with you a very fun way to showcase some of your favorite trims in a home décor project. Winter is just around the corner and so why not celebrate it with a winter themed wreath. The best part of this project is it doesn’t need adhesive.

Instructions:

Gather your supplies. Because this is a winter themed project, I pulled mostly blue trims with the exception of the Dazzle Ivory and the Edinburgh trim. I didn’t want it to look so monotonous so I added those two to spice it up a bit. I also used different shades of blue so my wreath wouldn’t look too predictable. 

Plan a pattern of the ribbons on your wreath and start tying them down. I used a double knot on the project to make sure that my trims won’t unravel on me. 

Repeat the process until you’ve reached your pattern. Once you’re pleased with the pattern, repeat it until you have filled up the entire wreath with ribbon. This might take a while. I did this project while watching some TV. 

Once you’ve filled up your wreath with ribbon, Cut a 12” ribbon (of your choice) wrap around the wreath and tie the ends. Add a bow on one side and this will be your piece that will allow you to hang up your wreath. 

And here are some more details of my project….

I really liked how this turned out. The cuts are all different lending to a homemade feel plus the colors will definitely bring cheer to those cold wintery days ahead of us.

If you have scraps, like I did, make sure to save them for other crafty projects such as what I did with the cards I shared earlier this month.

Be Merry Dazzling Cards by Pinky

Hey again, Happy Holidays from Pinky!

It's that time of year, the time to create cards and use that glitter.

How beautiful is the Dazzle Ribbon line from Ribbons Unlimited? 

Perfect for cards and so much more. 

 For this card I used a card stock base at 3.5X6, then added an acrylic front. 

In order to add the acrylic front I needed to use a stripe of glue,

the Ribbons Unlimited Dazzle Ribbon is perfect for covering that stripe

of glue. Adding the bow above the sentiment image was just for fun!

This ribbon is strong, and works well on any project from cards 

to hair bows, sewing and more. 

The glittered side is beautiful and adds holiday fun.

Christmas Ornament by Crystal

Hello Ribbons Unlimited, Inc Fans!

It's Crystal here and today I want to share one of my ornaments of the many I made this year , I have been a busy little elf ..lol  Custom Ornaments are the perfect gift for teachers bus drivers and yes even the lady who does your hair , I do these custom ornaments and top them off with bows made from Ribbons Unlimited Inc , this one I am using Luxor silver metallic sheer wired edge  2 3\8", this ribbon adds the perfect elegant touch .

I take a clear ornament glitter the inside and then add my vinyl art that I design up to it , and top it off with an amazing bow.
