1 Month Baby Layout - Jamie

Sunday, November 29, 2015

Hi everyone!

Jamie here, and today I would like to share this layout of my youngest daughter Harmony.

The blue butterfly background was cut down to size and then I cut the title out with my silhouette. I placed my 2" wide Coral Nylvalour Velvet Ribbon under the title and put the background title paper on pop dots.

I cut the hearts out and added them in place as well as the little banner. I finished the layout off with a wood veneer heart next to the heart at the bottom and added my journaling in white gel pen. I hope you enjoyed looking at my layout today!

Thanks for stoppin' by and have a wonderful day!

Thank You Envelope

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

Good morning!  Jamie with you today sharing a quick and easy Thank You Envelope which is perfect for gifting smaller gifts or even placing a card within!

Other Supplies:

Here's the tutorial:
 1.  Cut out all the pieces for the Thank You Flower Sentiment.
 2.  Use your skewer or pencil to curl the petals.  Adhere the two center pieces together and push the points up.
 3.  Adhere the center into the middle of the smallest flower.
4-7. Push the petals up toward the center then adhere the flower into the next sized flower form staggering the petals slightly.  Continue adding flowers and pushing the petals up toward the center until they are all in place.
 8.  Place a foam adhesive in the center of the sentiment.
 9.  Adhere the flower.
10. Size your envelope to fit your 12x12 mat and assemble.  Tie the Pink/White dotted ribbon in a knot around the center of the bag. Place the Kiwi Velvet Ribbon around the bag above the dotted ribbon and tie with twine.
11.  Tie the metal grey double faced satin ribbon around the dotted ribbon.  Tie off in a bow to the side.
12.  Adhere the flower sentiment in the center of the ribbons with foam adhesives.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Gift Wrapping with Nylvalour Velvet Ribbon

Wednesday, December 25, 2013

Merry Christmas!  Jamie with you today and like most of you I have been busy shopping and wrapping!

I love to have a variety of boxes and bags ready for the Holidays to hide gifts in so that they aren't obvious as to what is in them…yes, I am one of those that will wrap the smallest present in the largest box (or boxes!) just to keep the kids guessing!  This year I created over-sized Pillow Boxes to help me conceal gifts!

For this large pillow box, I used the 7/8" Kiwi Nylvalour Velvet Ribbon.  This high quality, Swiss velvet ribbon comes in widths from 3/16 to 2" in all colors. Wider widths available in black. It is a true velvet, not a flocked velvet. We also carry stretch velvet ribbon and double face velvet ribbon for special orders. Contact us if you are interested!

Wishing you and yours a safe and happy Holiday!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Creating a Pinstripe Background with Christine

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

Christine blogging with you today!  Here's one fun technique you can give a whirl: create a background with your ribbon.  For my card today I created a background using the velvet ribbon and then added a chipboard heart cut-out above it making use of the negative space
I first ran my glue runner over the square cardstock and then started creating rows of the ribbon.  I love how it looks like pinstripes because of the pewter color!  I added the chipboard heart frame atop it and voila....a different look with lots of dimension and texture!  Have a great weekend and I hope you can find a way to play with ribbon!

Supplies Used:
Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee and American Crafts
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Sticker: SRM Stickers

Altered Canvas by Jill

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Jill Foster's mixed media art is breathtaking! Jill created this lovely canvas and used velvet ribbon as a finishing touch.  Be sure to click on the photographs to view the details in a larger size;

Jill used Gelatos, gesso, acrylic paint, patterned paper, Glimmer Mist, stickers and rubber stamps to create the background, flowers, and vase. Modeling paste was used to add texture. Jill even altered the velvet bow with a bit of paint. Our velvet ribbon is Swiss made with a luxurious feel, in a variety of vibrant colors.  You'll find width options from 3/16 to 2".
